In 2023, World of Tolerance and Mekuri, with Estonian NGO Mondo, hosted Georgia's first Opinion Festival. Over 1000 attendees participated in 27 discussions on youth challenges, inclusion, and human rights, involving major organizations like UNICEF and the Red Cross.
In 2023, the very first Opinion Festival has been conducted in Georgia (Tbilisi and Zugdidi) by the organizations World of Tolerance and Mekuri in partnership with Estonian NGO Mondo with support from Estonian Fund for International Development (EstDev) and Estonian Embassy in Georgia. Both festivals have been attended by over 1000 people, entailing 27 discussions on various topics such as “Challenges faced by youth”, “GEUT - power of youth protest”, “Georgia through lens of inclusion”, “Prospects of security for human rights defenders in EECA region” and many others, and involved various organizations and stakeholders in the co-creation process: European Union Monitoring Mission, UNICEF, Red Cross in Georgia, as well as civil society organizations such as Tbilisi Shelter City, Ukrainian Youth Organization “Svitanok”, Tolerance and Diversity Institute and others. The partners agreed to support each other in the upcoming festivals, therefore both organizations are ready to actively contribute to the implementation of this project.
